Waterfowl Census
Carried out the
pioneering waterfowl surveys and promoted the mid-winter Asian
Waterfowl Count in the coastal areas of Bangladesh since 1987
and made a detailed survey of the key wader staging areas along
the coasts of Bangladesh, sponsored by the Wetlands
International (formerly Asian Wetland Bureau). The annual
waterfowl survey has now become a regular event among the
birdwatchers of Bangladesh.
- Worked as Research Fellow,
IUCN/CMC/WTMU Monitor Lizard survey in Bangladesh to
determine the status of various varanid lizards in 1988.
The survey results were used by CITES in categorising the
varanid species present in Bangladesh for the CITES
Schedules.
