construction to ascertain the flora and fauna of each
individual sight and communicate the impact to each
environment specifically and design the courses accordingly
for the lowest environmental impact to the location as
possible.

Canopy Field Research Assistant -
Climber/Rigger
Ascended and positioned rigging
in hundreds of 80 to 950 year old trees to initiate the
1,000 year Chronological Sequence Study funded by the NSF
(National Science Foundation).
Primary canopy climber and
canopy trekking system rigger while traveling to Borneo,
Malaysia under a National Geographic Society Grant obtained
for tropical canopy research and canopy trekking.
Constructed and erected canopy
platforms ascended by Washington Legislatures, artists,
musicians, and National Geographic Society filmmakers under
my climbing and safety instruction. Founded by Dr. Nalini
Nadkarni of the Evergreen State College and funded by the
National Geographic Society Fund for Innovation Grant.
In charge of instructing groups
of research volunteers, Evergreen College Students, and
Canopy Lab Trainees in climbing techniques and safety, tree
evaluation, and rigging strategies.
Re-visited the Chronological
Sequence Study Site in Mt. St. Helens to assist Nalini
Nadkarni in obtaining arboreal soil samples from 950 year
old Douglas Firs and Western Hemlocks stratification of the
arboreal soil microbial assessment.

schools that involved teaching the importance of retaining
healthy ecosystems in our urban areas to the varied
communities.

Plant Amnesty, providing an educational outreach in
arboriculture methods and environmental practices to new
companies and tradesmen in the “green industry”.
Volunteered time for The
International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) introducing new
climbing and safety techniques to newly certified arborists.

time for Peter Bloom and his 25-year raptor survey in
Southern California. Climbing various species of Southern
California trees while banding, counting, and taking
scientific data pertaining to the 7 different species of
raptors encountered. Volunteered climbing and data
